Vintage Halloween Suni Candle Lot w/ Original Packaging ~ Ghost, Witch, Pumpkin-Man, Jack O' Lanterns ~ 1960s

This is an incredible opportunity to own seven different Vintage Suni Candles: a grouping of 3 jack o' lanterns, a witch + ghost, a pumpkin-man and a taller witch! All of them have their original cardboard backings! It's incredibly difficult to find information on Suni Candles Company, but based on our research there do appear to be parallels between Suni and the much more well-known Gurley Novelty Company Candles...

1) Location - both were based in Buffalo N.Y. (see cardboard backings on Suni Candles which lists Buffalo, N.Y. 14204 as the address)

2) Design similarities - the candles have extremely similar and in some cases the exact same designs/molds. All of the Suni Halloween candles we've come across are modified slightly from the Gurley molds, but we have seen a couple Christmas candles branded Suni that match their Gurley counterparts exactly. 

3) W & F Mfg. Co., Inc. labelling - The Gurley Novelty Company was founded in 1927 as the W & F Manufacturing company, while the Suni Candles packaging list W & F mfg. Co., Inc. just beneath SUNI CANDLES. We've also see mention in various places that both Gurley and Suni were both owned by W & F Wax.

These are just some of the connections we've found between the companies. However, we have yet to find any official company information listed regarding Suni Candles on the internet or in any of our collectors guide books. Our best guess is that these particular candles were produced in the mid-to-late 1960s as zip codes (which again, are listed on the Suni cardboard backings) were only first introduced in 1963. 

The candles are unused but have quite a bit of vintage wear/tear (may include blemishes, scuffs, melting, stains, chips, and issues with packaging). Additionally, the small witch + ghost and larger witch have come off their cardboard stands. However, we still believe all of these display really well! Add these classic vintage Halloween candles to your collection today!
