Welcome to Eerie Emporium's auction for an original 1920s / early 1930s crepe paper witch apron! At ~100 years old, this antique features whimsical and spooky imagery common of the time including a smiling witch, black cat sidekick, veggie creatures and a large toothy jack-o'-lantern! Apron's are not a collector's segment that we frequently come across, or actively pursue, but we have read commentary from Mark Ledenbach in both his 3rd Edition Vintage Halloween Collectibles book and on his halloween collector website, that mention these aprons being either produced by or (more likely) licensed by Dennison; recently, a handful or collectors, including Mark, have hypothesized that these aprons may have been produced by C.A. Reed of Williamsport, PA via some sort of imagery licensing agreement. As noted, we do not considered ourselves leading experts in this segment of vintage / antique collectibles, so please take that information as a general guide only and do your own research. We absolutely love the unique design and vibrant colors present on this piece! The item is in vintage condition with quite a bit of standard wear consistent with many items from the era including holes, small tears, crinkling, creasing, etc. (may also include stains, discoloration, blemishes, thinning, etc.). Overall, we do not believe these condition issues take too much away from the item's visual appeal and believe this desirable collectible still displays very well! However, if you are a collector that strictly looks for items in pristine / near-mint condition, this apron may not be for you. Add this classic piece of Halloween history to your vintage or antique Halloween collection! 

*Similar aprons appear on page 88 & 89 of Mark Ledenbach's 3rd Edition of Vintage Halloween Collectibles. Using his relative scarcity index, Mark assigned the overwhelming majority of the aprons a number of "2" or "3", which means SCARE or RARE.*
